Not really,
u can download nearly everthing u want (its quite illegal, but theres a legal gray area at the moment) and no content of warez sites are blocked for germans.
torrents are dangerous, but when u download from filehosting platforms like rapidshare, the chance to get busted is tendential zero.

lol no. Aside from the usual panic in the media, nothing. If youre really dumb enough and use something like emule to download music, you may (i dont know anyone) get sued and they demand like 10.000€, and in the end you have to pay something like 150€.
There is a theory wich states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

Some laws are hard yeah but some are less hard like the speed limits on the highway^^
In the countries around Germany the limit is around 130 km/h and here it is not forbidden to drive with 400 km/h on the highway if you want so (and the track is clear) Big Grin
It is not hard to download it buf if you are caught it could cost a lot of money thats right Wink
The copyright laws are very strict so you can even be punished for downloading a youtube video Big Grin

I know someone who downloaded some song tracks from a filehoster and had to pay for it around 50'000€.
He is in debt until this day.

lol, but how government will know that i download from torrents?Smile i live in kazakhstan (who know that so far country?))) and there nobody cares about it. besides government cannot sue the torrent trackers because the content isn't located on site, but it is on user's computers (anonymous). but there strict law about car driving. for example everyone on forward sitting must be fastenet ot belt, so there a lot of road police. also it's lol to know that LiveJournal is blocked in kazakhstan because of antipolitical postsBig Grin but it's may be avoided just by using anonimyzer

Salem, menim atim justus

This is what a girl from kazakhstan told me (at chatroulette), how i have to introduce my self.

When u download/seed torrents, everyone can see your IP. When a lawyer sees your IP, he can go to a judgment and get your adress from your internet provider.
But currently, IP adresses are electronical evidences who are not really allowed in the law as an evidence, because its to easy to fake them..

That's crazy! About a year ago, a friend of mine spent a day or two downloading movies here in the US. His ISP contacted him and said they knew what he was doing, and if it didn't stop they'd cut his connection. They also reported the downloads to Warner Bros. Entertainment. As far as I know, nothing happened to him. Not sure what program he was using.

Also, Minecraft. Big Grin
